#8343-R.A.D.
OFFICERS LIGHTWEIGHT TUNIC:
Private purchase, Dienstrock tunic produced of
lightweight brown cotton cloth. In the post 1940
pattern, it has a front with six pebbled aluminum
buttons, simulated roll cuffs, two pleated breast
pockets and two lower slanted hip pockets. The rear of
the tunic has the traditional three vertical seams of
the rock pattern but without belt support buttons. Its
insignia is in the “warrant” Officer rank of
Unterfeldmeister and consists of aluminum bullion
tabs and shoulder boards on the black velvet of the
General branch of the R.A.D.
(National Labor Service).
These collar tabs
are removable, being attached by four-nickel snap-studs
while the shoulder boards are of the slip-on type-no
doubt to facilitate laundering. The left sleeve has a
machine applied Officers sleeve badge in flatwire
indicating the 4th Abteilung /
Gruppe 281 of Arbeitsgau 28
(Bohemia-Moravia).
Below this badge is a standard NSDAP armband of
quality multi-sectional construction being tack stitched
to the sleeve. The interior is correctly unlined and
unmarked. The tunic shows light use with some minor
fading. A fine example in II+ condition $725.00 |
