AND MINIATURE MOTHERS CROSS SET:
Interesting set of the 2nd pattern silver
Mothers Cross with bow mounted miniature. The silver
version was the 2nd class form of this award
and was presented to Mothers who bore between 6 and 7
children. The full size cross has a finely enameled
front with the silver areas appearing to be in bright
rhodium. The reverse has the typical 1938 inscription
with Hitler signature. The original blue & white ribbon
has been shortened and has deep creases suggesting it
was worn on a lapel. The miniature is of fine detail
and correctly has the inscription on the reverse along
with the makers mark of L/11(Deumer). It is
suspended from a bow of miniature-sized ribbon and has a
pin back clasp. This type of mounting was prescribed for
wear by Mothers in uniform. Both pieces show surface
wear, age toning and toning to their ribbons. Condition
