PRUSSIAN OFFICERS WAFFENROCK:
Pre-1910 pattern, private purchase Officers
Waffenrock that appears to have been worn as a
service dress into the early WWI period. The tunic is of
dark blue doeskin wool having an eight-button front,
stand up collar, pipings and Brandenburg cuffs in
red wool. It is complete with all of its shiny tombac
buttons on the front, cuffs and tail. The tunic has
slip-on boards for the rank of Hauptmann in
Prussian black-flecked silver braid on a red wool
underlay. The boards have twin gilt pips and a cypher
indicating attachment to the Berlin Bezirkskommando.
The interior of the tunic is fully lined in black
polished cotton with pinstriped tan silk inside the
sleeves and a sewn in collar liner. It has an interior
waist belt with nickel buckle and pocket complete with
named and 1910 dated tailors label. The tunic has some
post WW1 stampings inside the sleeves. The tunic shows
use with age toning to the shoulder boards, areas of
wear and light surface tracking mainly to the rear.
