#5159-WEHRMACHT PROTECTIVE HEAD NET: Unissued example of the protective head net as issued to troops of all services for protection against insects. Originally designed for use in North Africa, these were used frequently in the swamps of Russia. The generous size (roughly 14 by 19 inches) allowed it to be worn over any head gear including the wide brimmed pith helmet.
