#11263-WEHRMACHT  FOOD CANISTER: Nice example of this aluminum canister as used for various foodstuffs, mainly powders such as salt, sugar and spices. Measures 1-1/2 inches tall and 4 inches wide, these were usually seen in use on field kitchens as opposed to being carried by individual soldiers. The two-piece canister has a screw-off lid and is complete with an unbroken glass liner. The bottom shows heavy wear that has worn away most of the marking but the date 1940 is still visible.
