#7659-S.S.V.T. OFFICERS SLEEVE EAGLE: Extremely rare example of this early, M36 pattern sleeve eagle as worn by Officers of the S.S.V.T. (the forerunner of the Waffen-SS). In the “straight wing” style, It is of highly detailed hand embroidery in two types of aluminum wire and details of grey cotton thread. It is worked onto a backing of black wool badgecloth retaining a protective covering of black paper on the reverse. It shows signs of application with some minor stitch lines to its edges.
