#10700-R.A.D. ENLISTED WINTER FIELD CAP:
Sharp looking example of the cap worn by the enlisted
ranks of the Reichsarbeitsdienst
(National Labor
Service).
for winter service and skiing. Introduced in 1942, the
cap is produced of heavy “earth” brown wool having a
functional front flap that secures with a single button.
The front has a well-defined “Pinched” look and a neatly
hand applied RAD badge of thick machine embroidery on
brown wool. The interior is lined with light brown
cotton twill with no visible markings remaining. This
pattern of cap should not be confused with the M43 style
field cap that utilizes a two-button front and has
bridles under the side flaps (this
example rightfully does not).
This example shows use with light wear, several “bumps”
in the visor and soiling that is mainly confined to the
interior. A fairly scarce cap in Condition II- $575.00 |
