POLICE OFFICERS VISOR CAP:
Later war, private purchase example of the visor cap
worn by both standard &
Revier
Officers of the Schutzpolizei. The high saddled
cap is in a nice shade of “Police green” wool trikot
with a cap band of brown wool and bright grass green
wool piping. The front has a highly detailed aluminum 2nd
pattern Police eagle of the NCO style (typical to the
period) with a plain National Kokarde above an Officers
aluminum chinstrap. The interior, a product of the late
war economy exhibits Ersatz materials. It is
fully lined with a thin, crème colored cotton chintz
retaining a full but unmarked cello diamond (has
penciled in 58 size tag). This lining is completed by a
full sweatband of brown prestoff . The cap shows
light use and some age with two separations & creases to
the sweatband, a couple of pinheads to the top and two
moth nips to the piping. A sharp looking cap in
