#10672-WEHRMACHT  EASTERN VOLUNTEERS GENERAL SHOULDER BOARDS: Extremely rare variant example of the special pattern shoulder boards prescribed for wear by a Major-General of the Russian / Ukrainian armies of liberation. Introduced in the 1942 period, These large (5” by 2-1/4”) stiff shoulder boards were based on the old Czarist pattern. They are of standard dark green wool badgecloth having red wool piping and correct zig zag gilt tresse. This tresse is perfectly machine applied although a bit “spaced” out. The spacing however does comply with regulations that call for three folds to face the front edge and two to the rear edge; These slip-on boards have a dark green wool reverse with center tongue retaining straps. They are complete with gilt pebbled buttons and black rayon tie cords. They show use, with surface wear, soiling and dark age toning to the gilt tresse . The first such pair I have encountered in more than 25 years, Condition III+ $1200.00
