#10300-LUFTWAFFE  OFFICERS SUMMER VISOR CAP: Classic example of this sharp looking visor cap as worn by Luftwaffe Officers during the prescribed “summer” season Between April and October. Of private purchase quality, the cap has a removable top of waffled white cotton having a simulated white piping around the crown. It tightly affixes to a stiffened band of black mohair having Officers aluminum piping at its upper edge and lower blue grey wool base. The cap is complete with hand embroidered aluminum insignia having a white backed eagle and winged wreath. The eagle is removable and attaches with wire prongs through embroidered holes at the top with the wreath being hand applied to the band. It is complete with its Officers aluminum chincord above a Luftwaffe style black edged visor with green underside. The Spartan interior is correct for this type of cap, having a partial linen edge lining and full sweatband of brown calfskin. The cap shows use and age having several spots to the top of the white cover (these usually can be cleaned) as well as some spots of mothing to the lower wool edge behind (and therefore hidden by) the chincord.  Condition II- $1495.00
