#8873-LUFTWAFFE OFFICERS OVERSEAS CAP: Typical example of a standard Luftwaffe issued overseas cap upgraded for use by an Officer. It is produced of blue-grey uniform wool with enlisted pattern insignia on the front. These consist of a second style, machine embroidered Luftwaffe eagle & Kokarde that are neatly hand applied. The flap has a rather interesting application of Officers piping created from a folded section of bright aluminum Luftwaffe pattern tresse. The grey cotton lining is well marked with 1940 dated maker, LBA issue and size (57) stampings. The cap shows use having wear, interior soiling and a small hole & several nap worn spots to the right hand side of the cap.
