#8820-WEHRMACHT FAT CONTAINER: Scarce, “Shaker” top example of the fat container as used by all services. Carried in the breadbag, the container was used to store spreadable “fats” such as butter, “Schmalz “or margarine. The two-piece container is of molded orange Bakelite with a screw off lid. This lid has a small twist off cap with an interior shaker assembly. Both pieces have molded makers code markings. This harder to find variant shows some wear and a small chip to the small twist cap.
