#10665-PERIOD & ISSUE STYLE HANDKERCHIEFS:
Interesting lot of two period pocket Handkerchiefs, one
in the large issue style and the other of a civil style
(found in the pocket of an RAD tunic). To the German
soldier, handkerchiefs were more than something to wipe
your nose with, they were used typically as a personal
towel in the field. The large issue style example
measures 19-1/2 by 19 inches being of grey blue linen
with interwoven green stripes. The civil style measures
16 by 15-1/2 inches and is of thin white linen having a
woven plaid pattern of grey and wine red. Both have been
cleaned and show light signs of use and age, Condition
