#12609-W.W.1 MESS KIT: A rather clean example of the Imperial 1910 pattern mess tin as used by various Imperial army contingents. Typically taller than the later M31 model, it measures slightly under 8 inches in height. The two piece kit  retains about 95% of its original, grey green finish with small areas of surface rust here & there (should clean up), The lower "pail" is complete with wire hanger handle with one tab being maker marked. The upper lid has a folding handle with well marked hinge plate that appears to be dated 1916. The interior retains about 85% of its original tin coating but lacks the small upper insert, which is typical. It shows light use and mostly age as expected for an item close to 100 years old.
