#12294-HEER PIONEER NCO / OFFICER CANDIDATE TAILORED TUNIC: An outstanding example of a private purchase field uniform as worn by a Heer pioneer NCO holding the status of Officer candidate. In the M40 pattern, it is produced of a fine field grey uniform wool having a plain collar and a front that secures with 6 solid back Officer style buttons. It has pleated pockets with scalloped flaps, with the breast pockets being especially well tailored. The collar has machine applied cello tresse (slightly yellowed) along with machine applied M36 pioneer collar tabs. The slip-on M40 shoulder straps are of the issue type, having aluminum tresse, black rayon piping and a nickel pip. They are fitted with well tailored wool slip-tabs having two rows of aluminum tresse to denote Officer candidate status. The right breast has a hand applied, Officers quality breast eagle in aluminum bullion while the left breast has loops for a ribbon bar and pocket badge. The interior is fully lined with smooth, grey rayon cloth with pinstriped creme colored cloth inside the sleeves. This interior is complete with an inside breast pocket, internal cloth waist belt and edged weapons slot. The inside rear collar retains a most interesting tailors label along with the smaller label of the tailors guild. The tunic shows light use with very minor wear as well as a few areas of wear to the interior lining. A sharp looking and scarce example in Condition II+ $1895.00
