#12294-HEER
PIONEER NCO / OFFICER CANDIDATE TAILORED TUNIC:
An outstanding example of a private purchase field
uniform as worn by a
Heer
pioneer NCO holding the status of Officer candidate. In
the M40 pattern, it is produced of a fine field grey
uniform wool having a plain collar and a front that
secures with 6 solid back Officer style buttons. It has
pleated pockets with scalloped flaps, with the breast
pockets being especially well tailored. The collar has
machine applied cello tresse (slightly yellowed)
along with machine applied M36 pioneer collar tabs. The
slip-on M40 shoulder straps are of the issue type,
having aluminum tresse, black rayon piping and a
nickel pip. They are fitted with well tailored wool
slip-tabs having two rows of aluminum tresse to
denote Officer candidate status. The right breast has a
hand applied, Officers quality breast eagle in aluminum
bullion while the left breast has loops for a ribbon bar
and pocket badge. The interior is fully lined with
smooth, grey rayon cloth with pinstriped creme colored
cloth inside the sleeves. This interior is complete with
an inside breast pocket, internal cloth waist belt and
edged weapons slot. The inside rear collar retains a
most interesting tailors label along with the smaller
label of the tailors guild. The tunic shows light use
with very minor wear as well as a few areas of wear to
the interior lining. A sharp looking and scarce example
in Condition II+ $1895.00
