#6248-HEER  OFFICERS LIGHTWEIGHT FIELD CAP: Interesting example of a custom, private purchase field cap somewhat in the style of the Bergmutze. It is produced of grey cotton blended twill (similar to moleskin) with woven aluminum crown piping. The front has a unique, aluminum bullion eagle that having a three-prong reverse allowing it to be removed. This is above a hand-sewn bullion Kokarde and functional front flap that secures with two aluminum pebbled buttons. The interior is lined in gold rayon with a size 57 stamp and partial front sweatband of brown leather.  The cap retains an interesting outline of a badge on its left hand side flap (not from an Edelweiss). It shows some light fading, wear and toning to the insignia. Condition II- $1100.00
