The sew-in boards consists of bright aluminum braid over an underlay of white wool badgecloth. They have twin gilt pips and numerals 68 indicating a Hauptmann serving in the 68th Infantry Regiment (23rd Infantry Division, later becoming the 68thFusilier Grenadier Regiment).
