RATIONS SACK:
Fine example of the standard sack used for flour and
other foodstuffs. The large sack measures roughly 2 feet
wide by 3-1/2 feet long. It is produced of heavy,
off-white colored canvas with woven blue stripes at each
side. The front has a large printed National Eagle (one
foot wingspan)
while the back carries the large marking “H.Verpfl.-1941”(
Heeres Verpflegung-Food
Supply Service)
. This early war example shows some typical light spots
of soiling, a few small snags and light creasing.
