ENLISTED RANKS BELT BUCKLE WITH LEATHER TAB:
Fine, early war
example of the issue Heer “box” belt buckle as
worn by enlisted & NCO personnel. This example is of
molded pebbled aluminum construction retaining about 30%
of its original field grey finish to the front and 80%
on the reverse. Its reverse has a 1939 dated G&S
(Gottlieb & Son) marking along with a wide molded
catch and pronged keeper. The buckle retains a brown
(worn) leather support tab with 1941 dated matched
maker’s marking. Shows light age and minor surface
