#6098-HEER CAVALRY OFFICERS M36 SERVICE TUNIC:
Nice, private purchase example of an Officers quality
M36 tunic as worn by a Cavalry Major. It is
produced of winter weight, field grey Trikot wool
having a dark green wool collar, five (solid) button
front, pleated pockets and deep roll cuffs. The machine
applied collar tabs are of hand embroidered aluminum
cord with gilt Waffenfarbe strips. The
corresponding Major shoulder boards are of the
sewn in type with gilt cyphers denoting the15th.
Cavalry Regiment (Later constituted as the Recon
Abteilung of the 6th,16th and
26th Infantry Divisions). The breast eagle is
of nicely detailed aluminum wire on dark green wool and
neatly hand applied. The tunic retains it’s original
EK IInd. Class buttonhole ribbon along with sets of
loops for a large ribbon bar and one award (most likely
an EK 1st class). The interior is
fully lined with grey green artificial silk with gold
silk inside it’s sleeves. This lining is complete with
an interior pocket and edged weapons support strap with
pocket slot. The tunic shows wear with scattered snags
mainly to the chest area and a few on the sleeves &
skirt. The left collar has a well-done, seamed period
repair that is nearly unnoticeable. A nice, high-ranking
tunic to a well documented unit. (a short history of the
unit is included) Condition II- $1295.00
