#5421-SOLDIERS CROSS/CRUCIFIX: Private purchase item that was carried by German soldiers in both World Wars as a Religious article and Talisman. This 1930’s example measures 3-1/2 inches in height being of nickel-plated white metal with ebony wood inlays. In the ornate Catholic style, it depicts the body of Jesus along with a Totenkopf on the lower arm of the cross, all attached to the wood by tiny rivets. The lower reverse is marked “Germany” indicating it was also sold as an export item. It retains a small remnant of the original chain at top and shows surface wear, age and loss of the nickel plating in places. Condition II-  $90.00
