#10301-LUFTWAFFE SIGNALS NCO VISOR CAP:
Fine, private purchase example of the visor cap as worn
by Luftwaffe signals enlisted & NCO ranks. It is
of blue-grey wool trikot having a black mohair
band with copper brown wool piping. The front has a
nicely matched set of Luftwaffe second pattern
insignia in bright aluminum above a chinstrap of black
patent leather. The interior is lined in rust brown
cotton cloth and retains a fully marked cello diamond to
the scarce maker Ostland. It is 1939 dated with a
size marking of 57. The light brown leather sweatband is
intact and in clean condition with its original orange
sponge brow pad on the reverse. The exterior of the cap
remains extra clean with the visor and chinstrap free of
the typical age crazing. The eagle’s lower swastika is
slightly bent and the visor has a few tiny scuffs with
what looks like the residue of a small sticker. The
interior also remains in outstanding condition with no
defects. A fine example in condition I- $650.00 |
