#11297-HEER REISSUED ENLISTED RANKS OVERSEAS CAP: Scarce example of an overseas cap as reissued to Heer enlisted & NCO ranks from captured Dutch army stocks. The Dutch army employed a near perfect matching shade of field grey wool to their uniforms, warehouses of which were captured by the Wehrmacht. The caps were depot converted by the addition of a front panel of matching field grey wool, ventilation grommets and insignia. These were typically intended for secondary formations but in many cases ended up issued to Eastern troops. This cap carries M40 style BeVo insignia neatly hand applied to the front.The interior has a full lining of grey cotton twill that retains the remnants of markings. the cap shows light wear with some age and a few small moth nips on the side panels.
