FORESTRY OFFICERS VISOR CAP:
Sharp looking example of a pre-war private purchase cap
in the Saddelform pattern. It is produced of a
fine
dark grey-green uniform wool having a nicely contrasting
band & piping in dark green wool. The front has a
matched aluminum State pattern eagle & Forestry wreath
with Kokarde above the Officers aluminum
chincord. It’s nicely appointed interior is lined in
grey-green rayon cloth with a visor underside and full
leather sweatband in light moss green. The cello diamond
carries a maker’s mark and the wording “Stirndruckfrei-Deutsches
Reichspatent in faded but readable silver ink.
Although the cap exterior remains clean with only a
couple of tiny moth nips, the interior shows some wear
and age. The sweatband has a couple of splits while the
diamond remains intact but loose at the top with a
split. A high quality example, Condition II+ $675.00 |
