#12003-HEER PRESENTATION SCULPUTURE:
Unique and interesting wooden sculpture as presented to
the top NCO of a Heer company. The well-carved
statue shows a high degree of artistic talent and
depicts a seated soldier playing the accordion and
singing. It stands about 19 inches tall and appears to
be carved from oak or another heavy wood. Fine details
such as a cap kokarde, collar tabs and shoulder straps
are visible. The wood has tinting in dark tones of brown
and olive that give it an earthy appearance. The lower
base bears the inscription “Unsere Spiess-18th
Komp.-Landeck” more or less translating to “Our
Spiess-18th company-Landeck (a town located
in the Tyrol) it appears not to be signed. The statue
shows age with crazing in some areas as well as a few
small bangs and a chip to the side of the figures cap.
