#12776-GERMAN RED CROSS NCO VISOR CAP:
Nice example of this increasingly hard to find cap as
worn by the enlisted and NCO ranks of the Deutsches
Rotes Kreuz. The cap appears to be in the 1935
teller pattern updated with the addition of the
correct 1938 pattern cap wreath. The cap is produced
of charcoal grey uniform wool having a light grey wool
band and lighter grey wool piping. The front has the
correct enamel DRK eagle above the aluminum
wreath with nickel plated Kokarde. Below is an
interesting, single buckle chinstrap of black pebbled
leather. The interior has a side lining of brown cotton
along with an interior "roof" of grass green silk having
the direct silver imprint of the maker. This interior is
complete with a full sweatband of brown leather along
with the faded name of the original owner written on the
underside of the visor. The cap shows some age, some
small moth nips, areas of light soiling along with
soiling to the interior and a hairline split to the
sweatband. Remains in a solid, Condition III+ $550.00 |
