#8259-FIRE POLICE
NCO VISOR CAP:
Unusual pattern, fire service visor cap as worn by
enlisted and NCO ranks. The private purchase cap is in
the standard teller form, being of dark blue wool
trikot with a blue-grey wool band and wool
carmine piping. The insignia consists of a silver
finished state eagle and plain national Kokarde
above a “political” style leather chinstrap. The gold
colored silk lining is complete with a sweatband of
brown leather and well matched to the brown underside of
the visor. This lining never had a cello diamond
and is unmarked except for an unidentified stamp of “40”
(cap
size appears to be a 57).
Dating to the mid 1930’s period, this cap was most
likely used by a Bavarian State level or Military
associated Feuerwehr. The cap shows use with
light wear, age toning to its insignia, minor crazing to
the chinstrap. The interior lining has two worn spots
and a split in the sweatband. Condition II- $
