#12371-1914 IRON CROSS FIRST CLASS:
Outstanding example of this higher class award for
bravery as awarded during WW1 and worn throughout the
Third Reich period.
It is of vaulted three-piece construction having an iron
core and silver frame. It retains about 95% of its
original black enamel with age toning to the frame. The
reverse is complete with thin hinged pin and soldered
lower catch. The reverse is unmarked except for an
"800" marking indicating the frame as silver. It shows
age with toning and areas of heavy patina on the
